Support Forum
I'm trying to ensure the mobile version of the forum is on par with the desktop version. I see an option under Mobile Theme to "Enable mobile theme support". Is this significant? Either way, what is the best way to optimize the mobile version so that it is in line with the desktop in functionality? Thanks.
yes, to best serve the mobile experience, you want to enable phone and tablet support... but a couple other things play in...
first, your wp theme must be mobile ready and work properly... we are but a page in the wp theme...
second, you need a mobile ready sp theme... we offer three... unified, reboot and barebones...
combine a wp mobile ready theme and sp mobile ready theme and you should be good...
worth noting, you can use different themes for desktop and mobile (both phone and tablet)... so if you like one theme for desktop, but another for mobile, have at it!

Worth adding that if you use the SAME Simple:Press theme for both desktop and mobile then you do NOT need to enable the specific mobile theme support - unless you want to use one of the other options that specific enabling provides - such as hiding the page title on mobile display only - or using a different WP page template for mobile use.

FYI: We use the same mobile optimized theme for all devices. I customized a child theme for Reboot to add certain bells and whistles, but it works great when used right out of the box.
SP will identify the User Agent when loading the Forums page, and deliver the appropriate functionality for desktop or mobile view. By activating the same theme for all devices, you're guaranteed consistent styling everywhere.
