I've managed to muddle my way through to the point where I get emails when a user posts or replies and I see the item in my postbag.  The question is, exactly how do I approve or delete a posting?  I can't seem to see any buttons that give me that option.  HELP!

You see them in your postbag?  have you opened the postbag then? its the button that say view new post in the admin bar... I have to assume you are using the admin bar plugin because that is the only place the postbag exists...

when you open the postbag, you will see a list of posts that are unread, in moderation or identified as spam...  you can approve, delete or reply to them via the admin bar postbag...

I have the admin bar plugin v1.3.3 installed, but do not have akismet support.

I do not have anything showing on the admin bar.  The only reference I have is on the dashboard.  Here is a screen shot:Screen shotImage EnlargerOther than this, there isn't anything on the wp dashboard.  Any thoughts?

No, moderation is done on the front end of the forum - not the admin side...  you can use the SP admin bar plugin or use the forum tools on the front end...

I'm feeling really stupid right now.  When you say the "front end" vs the "admin side," I'm not following you.

I installed the admin bar v1.3.3 plugin in sp, activated it and configured it.  When I do that, I get the information about the pending requests on the dashboard, as reflected in my screen shot. (Without the plugin, I don't.)  But I find nothing on either the wp or sp menus that allow me to actually moderate.

By the front end, do you mean from the user side (albeit as an admin or moderator)?  By the forum tools, should there be a button?  I see one marked "admin links" but it doesn't seem to do anything.  I don't see any button marked as forum tools, or tools, or the like.  My website is http://www.wegmanlevin.com

Any guidance in the right direction would be sincerely appreciated.

front end means the actual website... not in the wp admin area... the forum display...  99.9% of users want to do everything from the front and nothing except configuration from the admin...  plus most dont let their moderators in the back end (admin)...

Got it.  Now I understand.

I've determined that the problems I'm having on the front end in accessing the tools are due to a theme conflict.  Changing nothing else, I set the theme to 2011 and tested.  Front end works great.

HOWEVER, despite installing the admin bar plugin, I can't seem to get anything to come up on the back end.  Where should the admin bar plugin show the postbag?  Is the admin bar the column down the left when I'm in admin, or is it at the top, or are we talking about the menu selections for SP?

re js issue, think I mentioned the issue before in post about really, really old jquery from the theme... in fact, your theme is doing some really nasty stuff in js.. If I even try to look at it, it tries to lock up my computer...  not pretty...

Got it. The front end access is now working. There was another conflict with the theme.
