Thanks, Yellow. I want my moderators not to be able to suspend, ban, or remove me from the group, however. I am the only administrator. What option do I not select to ensure that they don’t do any of these things to me?

If you don’t want them changing admins or mods, don’t give them manage admins capabilities…

Okay, so I have modified the permissions for my moderators so that they Can Edit Own Posts Forever. I have also uncheck the option for Edit Own Posts Until There Has Been A Reply.

However, my moderators still don’t see an Edit button on the top menu of each post.

Is there something I’m missing here? What else do I need to do so that my mods can edit their own posts even after someone replies?

I assume you are changing the permission set that you have applied with the moderator usergroup to the forum?  are they members of any other usergroups with permissions on these forums?

The users that are assigned to the Moderator user group are also members of the Members user group. Should I remove them from the Members user group so that they are only members of the Moderator user group? Would this solve the problem?

Assuming the moderators do not need to be in both then I think yes – take them out and see what the result is. Normally, under these circumstances, they would get a mix of both user group permission sets and the best – more open – would win. Perhaps they are being granted both edit permissions so one is cancelling the other.

I removed one of my mods from the Members user group thinking this would fix the issue but they still don’t have the Edit button on their post headers.

Any ideas?

if that fails, then we probably need a closer look with temp admin credentials if you are willing…  if so, you would need to pm them to both yellow swordfish and myself…  be sure to link to this topic so we know what its about…

Had a preliminary look. Currently both of your moderators still exist in other user groups as well. I think it would be a good idea to complete the set we discussed above before professing any further. So if you could remove them from other user groups and then see what they get it would be useful.

I removed one of my mods from the Members user group again, and again, still no Edit button in their post menu. Do you think it would make any difference if I clicked on the option for, “Users are limited to single usergroup membership”?
