I have a heavily customized version of phpBB3 with 70627 posts, 56 boards, and 14533 users.

My database guy is getting ready to move this mess into Simple:Forums, and was wondering if you have a sample database with headers he could use as a template while adapting my existing setup. I've looked around the site, but couldn't find one.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

If you do try the importer it might be worth trying to run it in a development environment as those are largish numbers and it might just time out.

I have the importer, but because of the size of the database and the fact that it is nothing like straight phpBB3, I'm not sure what modifications I can do to get people where they belong (I have a number of paid forums, and members need to have access to the boards they've purchased, and not the ones they haven't.)

This ties in to getting access for the guy moving the databases for me, which I've posted elsewhere.

"nothing like straight phpbb"

what does that mean?  you changed the way the db schema is?  we import from the db...  display customizations, etc wont matter...

we will import forums, topics, posts and users...  a couple of note worthy things that do not get imported (due to be completely unique to each forum) is attachments and avatars...  also permissions do not come across - again as very unique to each forum... so you will have to establish your permissions on your forums after you import...

If you have unique import requirements, you might check out http://gconverter.com/.  We are NOT affiliated with them in any way, but users have reported success in using them....

Actually, probably not a lot. My programmer built in a bunch of ways to create private groups for private forums in bulk and add members into them automatically in set numbers, so that I could set up small private workgroups for some of my classes, and some other things I won't be bringing over to the new version. But I'm not using the private workgroup model anymore in teaching the courses.

So dumping that data is not going to be an issue.

And will almost certainly not effect the data mapping...

Holly, you might have a look at this:
https://www.phpbb.com/communit.....#p13463441

I believe this is a version for phpbb3 that I used in phpbb2 to move an Icy Phoenix (heavily modded phpbb2 based CMS) to vanilla phpbb2 as the first step in moving the site to WP+SP. What I used worked flawlessly.

On that note, I tried to run SP5-Importer on this phpbb2 database to move it to a vanilla install of WP+SP and it failed.. I suspect I need to upgrade that site to phpbb3 for the SP Importer to work. Is this correct?

Thanks :-)
