Hi,
1. Can we move the forum "search" box to the bottom of the page on the desktop site instead of at the top?
2. The search on this support forum is absolutely terrible.
Most of the time it yields unrelated results based on the individual search terms' appearance in disparate parts of a post rather than together.
Just an FYI, I'd really look into this because I imagine you guys are answering tons of redundant questions as a result of this.

Absolutely the search can be moved but it is a little more complex than a simple copy and paste of a line of code and we will need a little time to write up properly.
But I must defend our search tool and algorithms. It is actually rather good. Yes you will get disparity if you are using the 'Match any Word' setting. If you want to remve the disparity you refer to then you will need to set it for 'Match Phrase'.
Both of these settings do what they say rather neatly and accurately. I would also recommend the use of our enhanced Search plugin (which we are using on this site) to improve the result display and usefulness.
As I say - we will need to get back to you on the movement of the search box as it also involves the advanced form.

Actually - I did just find one topic (using our search!) that describes the process although not in total detail. Have a look an tell me if that is enough to work with please...
