so it disappeared once you activated this domain mapping plugin? but works fine without the plugin active?
have never used it but seem to remember some folks using it previously without issue, but would have been some time ago and might not be correct... what does this plugin do again?
we have quite a few users (still a minority though) that use sp and wp multisite, so not really fair to say its not compatible with multisite, especially if its another plugin that its having issue with and not the actual wp multisite implementation... that said, we do plan a tighter integration with multisite in the future...
maybe some of other multisite users can offer some info on compatibility with this domain mapping plugin??

If there are users that use multisite on a sub-domain basis combined with simple:press then surely they must use a domain mapping plugin or have some sort of solution.
But who are these users?
How do I get in touch with them?
Why is there no talk of this already on the forum!!
hard for us to answer these questions since were are not really multisite users...
they are here though... I still am not real sure what the domain mapping plugin does... I did install ms on test site once using subdomains, but I did not run any kind of domain mapping plugin...
one guy you might try contacting via PM is jim... he is quite active with multisite but dont know if he using subdomains or not... you can get his profile in our top posters...
we are certainly willing to help make the two compatible if they are not, but we do need some help in understanding what is going on...

looking at Jim's site, he is indeed using subdomains... http://tripawds.com/ but as I said, not sure what domain mapping brings to the party...

assume main site of http://somesite.com and a network site of http://network-site.somesite.com... does domain mapping just let you map http://network-site.somesite.com to another top level domain, ie http://mysite.com??

Thats exactly what it does. (post 15)
The domain mapping plugin in question is http://wordpress.org/extend/pl.....in-mapping
to give you an idea of where the problem is see this link
http://franchise.surecare.co.uk/issue
the first image shows the domain mapping plugin where it is now mapped to surecarefranchise.co.uk
the second image show how simple:press still uses the original permalink.
well must say it sounds like the plugin doesnt fully implement the wp api... by that I mean we just get that information from wp... permalink, site_url, home_url, etc
do you have a test setup (web reachable) that we could play with (would need wp/sp admin access as well as ftp access)? have a few ideas how to perhaps complete the circuit...
or if you are comfortable with hacking some code and using wp hooks, can give you few things to try... though no real clue if it will yield anything...

Interesting. Not sure how much assistance I can provide, since we only run forums on the primary site, not any subdomains. We also use a different domain mapping plugin: http://bit.ly/wpmsdomainmap
Based on your screenshots, however, my first step would be to update the SPF Integration permalink to the mapped domain. It looks like you currently have SPF permalink set to franchise.securecare.co.uk/forum but with the domain mapped to surecarefranchise.co.uk I'm not surprised SPF is having a hard time finding the right Forum page. Try updating your SPF permalink setting to surecarefranchise.co.uk/forum and see if that does the trick.
I'm not sure if it's necessary, but you might need to update the WP permalink setting too, without making any changes.
Let us know if that helps!

thanks Jim... I suspect the domain mapping plugin they are using isnt pay close attention to the wp api, but could be wrong... looking at the plugin code, it doesnt seem to intercede if folks are grabbing urls or permalinks from wp... wp has hooks, so the plugin could jump in and correct... but dont really have a way to test...
