I used the default theme but my forum looks scrappy compared to simple-press. Why does mine not look similar to yours?
the width of the forum is determined by your wp theme... we just use the space they give us... so you need a full width template from your wp theme...
do you know if it has one? check by editing the wp page the forum is on and see if you can change the page template...

Ok papa, got all of those things fixed.
one more question: below the search box in the top left-hand corner of simple-press site is the page tier. urs is in a gray single like arrow box and mine is a tiered down line drop. mine creates empty space and i like your better...how can i set mine like yours?
The breadcrumbs you are talking about here have been custom made using special code in the theme along with special CSS settings.
You can adjust how the breadcrumbs look without creating special functions though. Take a look at the codex entry. It as several examples of changing them from showing as dropping down to inline and changing the icon or text.

You should create your own theme before you start making any changes. See Creating a Theme .
While on your bow hunter site I noticed the dropdown arrows in the quicklinks (New/Recent topics & Select Forum) are not displaying properly and are set in a fixed position.
There is an issue with your WordPress theme overridding the Simple:Press arrows. To fix that there will need to be some added CSS changes to your Simple:Press theme. So it might be a good idea to create a custom one now to address both of these.
