I have someone who has offered to act as a moderator on my forum. He’s having problems posting. To test the moderator function I set up another moderator using another one of my emails - to enable me to log in as a moderator. For me it works fine. He's having problems, this is what he says:
"I am having trouble with getting into any topic on the forum.  I've clicked everything, but those topics that have been posted will not open, and it's also very annoying, because when I got from forum session to outlook session to send you an email, as in the case that I have done just now, the forum logs me OUT and I have log in again.  Very frustrating mate.
I use IE10/Windows8.

I can LOG IN and LOG OUT, but logging out is difficult when you use the function on the INDEX, but LOGS OUT when you go to the profile button above.

I've clicked on all parts of the article posted in the INDEX, but nothing happens, just blinking.

I have no idea if it's IE10 or OS, but I have no problems with all other sites, just this site."
I've suggested it might be a browser issue - have you any other ideas?

well, we routinely test with IE 10 so its not a general issue there... We dont have Windows 8 to test on, but we have a fair number of users that use Windows 8 and IE 10... But it could be a compatibility issue with another plugin or theme...

with his console open, have him try some stuff and see if any errors thrown... another test would be to use the developer tools (F12 in IE 10) and try switching to IE 9 or 8 and see what happens...

OK. He's suggesting I delete his user name so he can re-register. I'm thinking this is worth a try and will show willing on my part. He hasnt made any posts in the forum yet (only on the WP site). To do this I would do Forum-users and then find his name in the list and delete, is that right?

Other question, would this delete his posts in WP?

Thanks

No.. users are the realm of WP... so you delete a user on the wp users admin panel... wait, actually, you might be okay - I think we added a button/link on our users panel that will take you to wp to do it...

I'm not clear on what you are saying here. Let me try and put my question more clearly, if I locate my moderators username in the list shown in the screenshot below,

- will this delete his previous posts in the WP site?

OK.He's posted a lot on the WP site so it would be a great shame to delete his account and lose his posts.

Above you suggested "have him try some stuff and see if any errors thrown" this is what he see's:

"The mouse functions are very temperamental, you move the ARROW across the title and a GREY BOX appears as in the attachment, and on this example I played around with the posting and finally when I was able to get the ARROW onto a specific part of the TITLE the WHITE HAND would appear, but once you clicked it, there nothing, then one a couple occasions it's like I clicked on the exact spot and the posting open, but it was good luck more than a good function.  It's mind boggling what is going on.  The success rate to open any posting is 5% possibility.  It's far too unpredictable and sensitive.  It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.  Sorry for this unusual fault, but I can give you anything else to go on.  Maybe we should close down and delete my registration and re-register, as there might be a gremlin in my box???"

It seems there's no solution here?

I was not suggesting deleting his account - just responded to a question...  I highly doubt that would be of any benefit...

does this user only have IE 10?  can he try another browser?  does he run any special add ons for IE 10?

as mentioned earlier, we have lots of users using SP with IE 10 including with Windows 8 though I can only test with Windows 7...

so currently, no solution as I dont know of a problem yet... still gathering info...

have you provided us a temp account on this site so I can try with my IE 10?
