I don't know whether I've missed a setting or if this is a glitch. Here is the behavior:
When I'm logged in, all posts can be seen, both when displaying the thread or hovering over the arrow to see the flyouts of first and last entries under a topic.
But when I'm logged out and visiting the forum as a guest, the message area for my posts within the thread is empty (although the post header, stats, and my picture are present) and the flyouts don't appear. (All other posts and flyouts remain visible.)

check the guests permissions... in particular, that one that says can they see admin posts...
and no caching plugins, right?

I was just replying to say that my message should be ignored. I found the setting. "Read only" was excluding admin posts. Thanks.
I am using WP Super Cache, but it's currently turned off for testing.

I already have "/talk/" (my SP forum page) excluded from WP Super Cache, so I'm guessing there won't be an issue.

yes, if excluding it from wp super cache you should be fine...
