Hi to all the friendly and knowledgable guys here at simple press..  I've reinstalled my simple press and for the past 2 days.. it was working fine.  I've tested all the plugins which was great.. image ..signature etc..

How just again when I tried to enter the site..  The forum loads up.  However, I cannot enter to ANY of the forums when  click. It just leads me back to the default forum page??!!

Any idea what is happening here?  The site is http://www.sganglers.com/forum

In the long run, we are expecting at least 2000, members soon on the forum.. and hope that it would be as stable as possible.

Current'y I'm with godaddy, linux hosting on their ultimate plan.
unlimited bandwidth and storage.  We had about 7 people testing the forum today thats about it.

Any solution would be greatly appreciated as the launch date of the forum is about 2-3 weeks time.

Regards :)

It's another one of these 'what changed?' questions!

You will see by hovering over the lins that the urls are being created correctly so something is stopping them from functioning.

The most common cause would be some sort of redirection being imposed incorrectly. So - first question - have you installed a redirection plugin? If so you will need to exclude the forum slug.

Another common cause is the Yoast SEO plugin. If you have that active you will need to use the setting to allow what it calls 'ugly permalinks'.

If none of the above - come back and we can look into other but less common causes.

hmmmmmmm  they only think I could think off, is that I changed the links structure from http://www.sganglers.com/page-32 to sganglers.com/forum

Nope, I've not installed any re-direction plugins. and I dun have Yoast SEO Plugin.. :P

Would that have caused it?

Regards,
Mathew

OH MY!!  I reverted back to default settings and it worked!!!
Is there any way, I could change my WP settings to Postname and NOT disrupt my forum?  Else I guess I have to rebuild it up from scratch again?

Regards

Ah yes - if you change the wp permalink you do need to update the forum permalink as well.
