Hi, this may be a stupid question but my url looks like this http://www.domain name/?page_id=9/topic name.

Question is why is "?page_id=9" in the middle there.... why cant it look something

like this http://www.domain name/topic name

It's because you have WordPress default permalinks turned on for your site. You have to set up your wp permalink settings for pretty permalinks.
