I've searched the docs and forums, but can't seem to find an answer to a certain question I have about integrating SimplePress Janrain authentication...
Can I use the SimplePress Janrain options to just allow our registered members to log in via their social media accounts? Or, will it allow anyone with a Facebook or Twitter account to log in to our site/forums?
This may sound like a silly question, but I don't want just anyone from Facebook logging in to our site. I need to make sure they register for an account on our site first. It makes sense they must do so, but I want to be sure.
From SimplePress Help Tab:
Using the RPX Web Services you can allow users to use third party sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Google, Yahoo, OpenID, etc login credentials to access your site.
I need to ensure that all users of our site and forums are registered members of our site. Since it is a multisite network, I also need to ensure if they login via SimplePress/Janrain they can access their own blog dashboards too.
Thanks in advance for the clarification!
Background:
I'm considering adding this feature since my server managers and I have been desperately trying to solve a nagging issue we have with our users randomly and frequently getting logged out. We have taken all the usual troubleshooting steps, many times. I'm hoping this may be an interim fix to keep users logged in. Any other feedback on this issue glaldy welcome!

mr-papa will correct me if I am wrong any any points here but basically the Janrain route allows users to log in using social media site credentials that you allow but this does create a full registration record in the WP users database. So they do become registered on your website.
However, such a course is unlikely to have any effect on any logout problems you may be having because it is still WordPress that is controlling the login/logout process - it is just allowing the use of credentials that were not created within WP initially.

I figured that was the case, and if they are already registered, it is just another way to authenticate them.
I was thinking/hoping the social network or Janrian might help keep them logged in while we try to figure out what's going on with the unexpected logouts...

it will allow anyone with the enabled third party logins to login (and create an account) on your wp site...
