Indeed, once a user is granted WP edit capabilities TinyMCE will not load for that account in the forums.
Now, to determine why this happens... I've tried commenting out various "if is_admin" functions in the theme without success, just not sure exactly what I'm looking for.
Thanks again for going above and beyond the support call on this one. I'll report back if I make any progress.

Thanks for kind words Jim! unfortunately, I figured that would be the case...
is that a paid theme or free? if I get some time, would be willing to take a look and see if anything sticks out...

Creativo is indeed a paid theme, and the developer has spent quite a bit of time with me to try and pinpoint the issue, with no success yet.
Clearly something is keeping TinyMCE from loading on the front end for logged in Admins. I've now replicated the issue in various browsers. (I was using different accounts for testing before, when I thought it was only Mozilla.)
If you're feeling industrious, I've made the theme's functions file and page template we're using for the Forum available for download here. If you need the whole theme or anything else, just let me know.
I can't thank you enough, but don't expect you to spend too much time on this. I also know your time is valuable, so if you can't get around to this I certainly understand!
