Some days ago we contracted some indian developers to help fix some issues in our wordpress site (we did on odesk), it has been hell... after 2 weeks they left withour accomplishing one simple point.
Now our simple-press forum doesn't show images (any of them), if you inspect the element you can see the ".png"doesn't appear.
Any ideas about how to fix it?

Sorry, nevermind. Those pepople installed a pluging to remove utf8 caracters from the images, and that messed up the forum, we deactivated it to make it work.

It depends how the extension is being suppressed. If they edited SP core code to remove all mentions of image extensions then just replacing the SP plugin files will do it.
On the hand of they edited your SP theme to replace all exiting icons with an extension-less name then that too could be replaced. But a quick look at, say, the spHead template will answer that question quickly enough.
Another method would be to impose a filter on the content that strips extensions. This is the simplest method of all of course.
Perhaps it would be useful if you could tell me what these guys were supposed to be doing and if this end result is just unfinished business or something malicious...
