I have a site that is still in beta. It has Simple:Press posts and settings that I want to keep.
How can I upgrade from SP version 4.3.4 to 5.2? I'm assuming I'll need to first upgrade to 4.5, as an intermediate step.
My WordPress version is 3.5.1 (the most recent release).
All help greatly appreciated.

yes, you will need to upgrade to 4.5.1 first... you can older simple press versions to accomplish this at:

remember, make a db backup each step of the way in case there are any issues...

I have the SP 5.2.6 upgrade up and running and it recognizes the forums I've created -- at least in the administration settings.
However, I'm seeing no posts or forum listings on the actual page -- only this message below Home / Talk (the name of my forum page):
"The requested group does not exist or you do not have permission to view it"
The plug-in is active and displays correctly on the page, just not the posts or forum names.
this was an upgrade (sorry, replying via email and cannot see whole thread)?? can you try going to forum - toolbox - housekeeping and resetting the auths cache? if that does not work, we have had a dozen upgrades that lost permissions... can you check your db and see how many entries you have in the sfauths table?

Resetting the auths cache didn't fix the problem. Still no posts or forum listings below "Talk" in the hierarchy.
I could research this one, but I'll just ask. Does Simple:Press use its own database or is the table inside WordPress' database? Can I investigate using special SP admin tools or do I need to use cPanel?
Afraid I didnt think it would... yes, we have our own tables inside the same database as WordPress... you need to use phpmyadmin or similar database inspection tool... cpanel usually does have phpmyadmin...
think I know what this issue is (adding to the dozen?), but need to know the number of entries in the sfauths table (will be preceeded by wp_ or whatever your db prefix is)...

sorry, not sure what you mean... in the wp_sfauths table, how many rows (entries) of data are there?
