Now this... is entirely warranted.....
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo and indeed hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Thanks for bearing with me on this... I checked how new users were being added, as when you register with a sub-site you actually become a member of the top level site, which in my application is http://www.modelflyermagazine.com
Users were getting added to that site as regular subscribers which is correct as you suggested.
So I had a look at the user list for RCElectricFlyer.com and sure enough the users were showing as registered (reflected in the number of users on the site) but weren't actually assigned a role!
So... I did some more digging on syncing users across sites in a Multi-site network, and this beauty of a plugin seems to hav now solved the problem! http://wordpress.org/extend/pl.....anagement/
So... for anyone wanting to run a wordpress multi-site network, under buddypress with a far superior forum than the buddy press native one, with a forum on EACH site rather than a generic global one, what you need is:
- Wordpress
- BuddyPress
- SimplePress
- Multisite-user-management
And with those tools, you'll be able to build your dream site!
Thank you Yellow Swordfish... You're a legend!
Cheers
Justin
somewhere in an old topic we had raise that plugin as a way to counter the default wp user management across the network sites... maybe we should add a faq on it...
