So yes -you have posts in the list coloured red? And I feel sure that the number of these equals the number in your unread post count. Yes?
This means that they are awaiting moderation and approval. So they either need manually approving via the forum tools (as you are not using the admin bar) or, if the option is set, they will be automatically approved if an admin posts a reply to them.

Yes!

But what do you mean with approving? There is no permission or something else required. Is there a way for an automatical approval?
The admin bar will not retrospectively count posts when it is activated as it maintains a separate list.
Check your moderation settings in the permissions (http://codex.simple-press.com/.....ions-work/).
When you load the posts in question is there an approval option on the forum tools menu?

This is ok.

Load the posts in question? What do you mean with this?
So bizarrely the suggestion is that two posts have been stuck in the moderation/waiting list even though the admin bar plugin was not active. I really don't see how that could happen but let's try it out. As you have the admin bar plugin active now click on the 'View New Posts' button and when the section below opens click on the 'Empty the Admin Postbag' button and see if that changes anything.

If there is still one left that that still suggests that the root post is in moderation. Are you able to look at your database tables directly? If so the look at the 'sfwaiting' table where they might be one entry. There is a column in there for the 'post_id'. Then look in the 'sfposts' table for the record with that post_id and look at the 'post_status' column value. if 1 it means means it is awaiting approval. A 2 means it is marked as spam. A zero means it is a normal post.
