Hi I have just installed Simple Press on my wordpress.com blog and somehow the forum I created keep saying "the forum is currently locked - access is read only" eventhough I unchecked the "lock" button. As an administrator I am not being allowed to post anything on my discussion board. Please help

do you mean on the forum or the global one?  you can individually lock each forum or globally lock the whole site...  for the latter, check forum - options - global settings
