Hey Kerry,
OK.. Robert gave me details to log in to view a few things and it took me to the WP dashboard. WordPress list 14 users in total, Simple:Press lists 22 members, 2 moderators and 1 admin so 25 as you've said.
So there is a bit of a mismatch. Simple:Press doesn't have unique users, all users are regular WordPress users so the numbers should add up. If the WordPress users don't exist then you have posts made by people who don't exist and my guess would be that is playing havoc with things In particular it could be that because the users don't exist it's confusing the permissions possibly meaning you have permissions to view the thread but the content is I guess unknown.
This would explain why when Robert views the threads from an admin account he can see the posts, because admins are exempt from permissions.
If the WP users can't be imported because it's coming from a non WP based site, they will need to be re-created or the posts will need to be assigned to another user.
so to be clear, if in the db, you look at the wp_users (prefix might be other than wp_), you see 25 entries??? but the wp dashboard for users (wp - users) shows 14?

Well, what I'm seeing reported in WP is 26 users probably more now. I x-refed all of those names with the user tables and they match perfectly.
I'm curious why the posts table only has 61 records in it while the forum is showing posts dated back 2 or 3 years ago.
Is there any way that posts are linked to a foreign table and the permissions on that foreign table are not set for usertype nobs?
Kerry
still confused... three different people have quoted different user numbers... 🙂
so number of rows in wp_users matches number of rows in wp_sfmembers? and do the user_id in sfmembers, match the ID in wp_users...
guess you only shared site info with Ike as I cannot see the forum page...
have you checked permissions?? make sure the post content is viewable?
