This almost certainly comes back to a filter change that WordPress made to their core somewhere back in 3.7 (I think it was). Are your WordPress, Simple:Press and all Simple:Press plugins up to date with the latest versions?

Yes - that would not be a factor.
I will need to check back on the cause and changes we had to implement for this issue which I think is the root cause. Will need to do some digging and come back to you.

Yes sorry - I meant to come back to this last night.

This is caused by a change to escape filtering that was put in place by the WordPress team in their 3.6 release. I rather thought we had caught all of the manifestations of this but as we see this is not the case.

It only shows up - I believe - if line breaks are involved (i.e., 'p' or 'br' tags). At least my testing suggests that although there may be other instances. I think this is why we missed this particular one. Hopefully will have a fix in the next day or two and will try and publish it here for those who may want to make a pre-update code edit.
