Having recently set up Simplepress on my website http://www.eeesafe.com/forum I can get to a Register Button. However, clicking on it, doesn't take me to a screen requiring Registration Information. I wonder if you can tell me why please?

I wanted to test the experience from a different email address I own.

I have checked the Registration Section of the SimplePress Administration and all I have filled in is the following in the Components & Registration section. logininformation.JPGImage Enlarger

I also seem to have some other storage location issues and I'm not sure if this is causing a problem as well.  If so, how do I correct it.

so you have enabled the policy docs plugin and are forcing an acceptance of the registration policy...  but I dont actually see a policy... what options and text for the policy are you using?

as to the errors...  this is multisite?  where is your multisite storage?  new wp installs wont use the blogs.dir, so just update those to the proper per site storage for your ms setup...  this wont affect the policy stuff though...

Thanks. Yes. I only installed the plugins last night and need to disable the Policy Forcing, till I've written my policy.

As to the other errors, are you saying that I just need to create those directories at the right location on the server?

Further, I still am not getting any Registration link for people to Register?  Any thoughts?

THanks

Registration Link? You said button originally... so is it just a matter of: http://codex.simple-press.com/.....-my-forum/

As to the missing storage location then basically the answer is yes. But you can create them however you want them. I would suggest you take a quick read of the popup help on that admin panel which explains in detail and I would only be repeating here.

I'm checking this now with my Developer as I think some things are restricted on his theme for my site, which incorporates the SP Plugin.

I went to subscribe to this topic and I see RSS stuff which comes up the top.  Do I need that because clicking on it brings up the xml info.  I'm just looking for people to receive an email from topics or forums as they want, via emails.  How is that best set up and can we be sure that the emails don't get Spam Flagged?

Thanks

Your developer? This is just a WordPress administrative option. Nothing to do with themes.

Sorry but you are going to need to explain what you are referring to here. What do forum subscription emails have to do with RSS feeds. They are completely separate and different entities? Although it is worth stating of course that RSS feeds are delivered via XML but I assume you know that. So not sure what you are asking?

Well that IS the subscription option which you have used on this thread. Available as a Simple:Press plugin. See the Features and Plugins page for details pf what is available. But I have no idea how you avoid email being 'spam flagged'. That's up to the receiving email client I believe.

  • Yes. I know, but Wishlist was suggested elsewhere, and I can't add Plugins on WP. Sorry. should have explained.

  • Sorry. You are right, as per the Plugin below. I realised that I should have asked how I can remove the RSS stuff.  What we're going to put on the forums, I don't want syndicated elsewhere. I'm not that familiar with it yet, but may look at doing so on a certain section later, if that's possible. its not important now.

Well - simply turning on registrations to enable people to sign up is not dependent upon any plugins either. It is still just a WordPress option. All plugins do is enhance or add more control to that process.

As to RSS feeds then see the forum admin > Forums section > Global RSS Settings. I would recommend getting to know the options available in the admin.

Thanks.

I'm looking at getting the Registrations linked to my own SQL Database but thanks for clarifying that.

I will look at the Admin stuff more. Cheers

Yep - that needs a developer all right :)
