what's not working?  how did you search (inline search form? link in profile or members list, etc) what search options did you use?  what did you search for?  what version of sp?  are you using the search plugin?

We entered a word, that is in a post, into the search box above "Advanced Search" and clicked the search button.

We downloaded and installed the Simple:Press plugin today, version 5.5.1.  We have not installed the search plugin, is it required for the search box to return results?

no, the search plugin just returns search results a bit differently than core does...  see our search here for it post based instead of topic based...  just trying to understand the steps you took...

I was particularly interested in the word you searched for... is it English or another language?  is the length of the word longer than your mysql search term minimum length (its displayed on the advanced search form)?

the word is "doubt"

here is the search:

http://www.sitename.com/forum/.....;include=1

"doubt" is in at least one of the posts.

We use SearchWP on our site to search custom posts.  Do you have any conflicts with SearchWP?

not that I am ware of, but then again, have not heard of SearchWP...  but its possible we are both using similar search terms in query args...  which is why I wanted a link to see the actual search results page to see the url and contents...  I dont recognize the message you posted so was wondering if there was a conflict...  We do not have output that says "The page you requested could not be found. Try refining your search, or use the navigation above to locate the post."

did the search results page look like a forum page?  it should still have a forum header and footer...

if you do a temp deactivate of the SearchWP plugin, does it work?

how can I send you the link privately?  the message looks like our SearchWP no results found page.  we deactivated the SearchWP in our localhost copy of the site and the SP search gave the same results.
