only thing that comes to mind would be illegal characters in the topic title that makes the post inaccessible...  so knowing true topic title might give clue...

to see the content,  you would have to view in the db...  sfposts table...

to get the topic title, in db, sftopic table...

I managed to access the database and look and the entries with problems, they have NULL in the fields "post_id" and "post_id_held"... does this help you to understand what is happening?

not surprised actually...  just indicates neither topic has any posts... which is what I would expect given what you are seeing...   just not sure how they got in that state...

can your remove the topics?

and then ask the user to create a new one?  and take note of any messages... and see if they have same problem...

if I understood correctly, other users are creating posts fine...

I can do that bt it's exactly how we got into having two messages. I already deleted the first, then asked her to create another one, that didn't work, so I asked for another one with a longer title (I was thinking that "notification" could have been a reserved word for the slug)... and that's the result. So I don't see the point to ask her to create some more. Also that lady was the worse person for this to happen: she is not technical at all and amongst my readers I don't know her very well.
Yes a very few others are posting fine, the only difference this lady has is a username very short: only 3 letters. Can that cause any issue?
After this I cannot think about anything else, only that she cannot use the forum as it is now confused

and can she relay what the message was after creating the topic?  success?

and what about in the php error log after creating the topic?  not ours but the php one...

since time has elapsed might be easier to look now as its tried again...

short names dont matter.... we have many here with 3 chars (look at the top posters)...  any non standard characters in that name?

well, it varies from server to server and host to host...

you can try looking at the one on forum - toolbox - error log if you cannot find it...  but clear it first before running the test...

I will run the test later. In the meantime I went to check the error log and another error appeared:

giugno 5, 2015 7:44 pm | spaErrError | 2 | database

file: /membri/mspforum/mspforum/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/admin/panel-toolbox/support/spa-toolbox-save.php
line: 70
function: sp_build_post_index
error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' post_count=0, post_id_held=0, post_count_held=0 WHERE topic_id=' at line 2

UPDATE avwp_sftopics SET post_id=, post_count=0, post_id_held=0, post_count_held=0 WHERE topic_id=36

Maybe you can see something useful in it...

think that is related to the topic id already missing...  would suggest deleting the messed up topics... and clearing the error log right before starting the test...

I deleted the corrupted posts and they were topic_id 35 and 37... this 36 I have no idea which one is it!

Anyway, I clear the error log now so we can have a cleare vision later when Ida comes to the forum!

To later!
