When I click on images that were added to a post, I am unable to click on the X on the upper right hand side of the picture because it is blocked by a shadow. Anything that shadow touches I can't interact with. How do I get rid of this shadow?

First, I visited 4 different topics with images and had no problems opening and closing popups... so seems working... do they all act the same for you??? does it happen in all browsers? maybe you can provide direct link for us to try...
but... are you running your own sp theme? perhaps you might have missed some needed theme updates due to wp changes in jquery ui...

Thanks. I was using a custom theme. When I changed it to the latest standard theme, the shadow went away.
I have another question related to this. Sometimes when I click on an image, the pop up box is really tall. Is there anyway to control the size of the pop up box?
Perfect example are the pics in this thread: http://playingwithsuperpower.c.....for-trade/
you can limit the image size of uploads on forum - components - file uploads...
unfortunately, your link does not work or is not open to guests... but the popup image should be limited to window size... is it not?

Posts should be open to guests. I'll try the link again: http://playingwithsuperpower.c.....for-trade/
Images are displayed in window size, but I'm referring to when I click on an image. When I click on certain images, the pop up that comes up can be very very tall, so much so that I can barely see the exit out button on the picture.
I tried manipulating the options in the uploads section before and after you suggested it. However the size of the box when I click on an image doesn't change.
Is there something I'm missing?
When I view one of the images I get
2,048px × 1,536px (scaled to 1,078px × 830px)
I take it you are using the 'Constrain popup enlargement to current window size' option?
I've checked all the images and they all display the 'x' clearly and click-able.
Have you tried restricting dimensions of images users can upload in the first place through the plugin options / Forum > Components > File Uploads?
FYI: I noticed the same issue in our forums a while ago, but discovered hitting the escape (esc) key would close the image pop-up.
I must have resolved the issue with recent theme updates or plugin upgrades, because it is no longer happening.

Thanks Jim... yes, esc works as a backup...
