I have S:P Admin > Admins > Your Admin Options set to Receive email notification on new topic/post, but am NOT receiving any notifications, except for posts on which I have posted a reply.
Any idea why I'm not getting notifications? This is making me crazy! (I can DM my login info -- just tell me where.)
Thanks,
Melissa
so are you saying you as admin are not getting admin notifications? but you are getting notifications for topics you are subscribed to? and you get the latter when someone else posts to that topic?

We are going to have to look around the periphery of this one. Admin notification and user subscription emails are sent at the same time, using the same basic code structure and both using the email address that WP holds for that user. The only differences are the email content and the subject line. If one goes there should really by no reason for the other not to go. And - worth noting - when we have reports of emails not being sent this is across the board - not just one type.
So - something odd is clearly going on.
The obvious first one would be spam filters... make sure these are not being dumped as spam.
Also - when logged in as an SP admin, open up your SP profile and check your permissions on some of your forums. As an admin you should have all permissions turned on except two. Is this the case?

Hi Yellow Swordfish,
I have not found any of the missing notifications in spam, and I've checked several times.
I checked permissions, and yes, in all cases permissions are all turned on except two.
Another data point: our contact form is also not working. It gives this error when someone tries to send a message:
Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact administrator by other way.

The curious bit about this is not that emails are failing - this is a very common problem with WP. The really curious bit is that some are successful.
But - the common denominator of SP admin notification emails and your Contact plugin emails will be the email address stored in the WP admin > Settings > General page. Both will be using this so is this correct?

Aha! Well, that may possibly provide an answer... That email was set to my partner's personal address, which would explain why I wasn't receiving anything!
I'll check and see if he was receiving. In the meantime, I've changed it to our joint address. Contact Form 7 is still not working after this change, fyi.
