Good morning,

Thanks in advance. We are having an issue with our subscriptions not being sent to our users. We are using subscription plug in, and html e-mails. I am not sure if we deselected something, but e-mails are not being sent out.

Any ideas would be great,

Thank you,

The number one question is - are other emails getting sent? All emails are sent by WordPress - Simple:Press just calls the WordPress email routines. So - if other emails are getting sent out by Wp then Subs should get sent as well. Or - is there an overall email problem?

It seems we are getting some e-mails out. This AM some of the notifications went out at least one we know of. I have yet to receive any of mine. We are testing everything know and will keep you posted. Still think a setting is off somewhere.

It is weird they where sending out until 8/9. Then nothing, then this AM 7:48 our lead programmer got one.

Digging in - but for sure WP is sending - thanks for the help.

Intermittent sends are obviously more difficult to pin down. WordPress has pretty notorious hit and miss email sending but it is usually clear one way or the other. and I can only really help with SP emails as they are the ones I know. So - some things...

Forum admins do not need to use the subscriptions as they can turn on email notifications on the forum admin > Your Admin Options. Unless they do not want ALL notifications of course.

The email address you have set up in the WP Settings > General is the one that will be used for sending and it does need to have a valid email server behind it. In other words it must be genuinely capable of send out emails.

By default, WP sends all emails as being sent by 'WordPress' which most people do not like. The forum admin > Options > Email Settings panel allows you to override this with your own email name etc. Ensure these settings are correct.

Finally, a lot of people - including us as it happens - have problems with WP mail. There are a few plugins in the repository that may help with this.  The one we use is called 'HGK SMTP' and we have recommended it to many users over the years with near universal success I believe.

I would suspect web host smtp restrictions. Who is your server host? Been there experienced that in the past.

how many emails are we talking about?  server might have flood gate limitations...

also wp 4.6 introduced some email issues also though not sure it shows up as intermittent issue...  they are already prepping a 4.6.1...
