Support Forum
I am running into an odd issue with the forum page after switching to a new WP theme. I already posted on the theme developer's forum but figured it might be useful to cross post. The theme in question is this one: http://themeforest.net/item/st.....me/8819050, just as an FYI. The problem is this: while the rest of our site works fine the forum page initially loads without a hitch, then suddenly goes blank the moment the mouse pointer hovers over any element of the page. Firefox simply says "Connecting". The theme comes with a few extra plugins but none seem responsible; I went as far as deactivating (almost) all our plugins. Switching back to the previous theme or any other theme makes the issue go away. This appears to be a JS or Ajax conflict, to me at least. I tried various setting in S:P but nothing helps.
Our forum is usually private but for troubleshooting purpose I've opened it up to the outside, the URL is http://decor8blog.com/ecourses/forum/ (there's not much to see though as the forum itself remains member only access; it does exhibit the behavior though).
This seems to have something to do with tooltips. Now it should be fine as we now use the jQuery UI tooltips but there might be some sort of clash with something else.
Firstly - are you using the very latest Simple:Press version plus up to date plugins and theme?
One thing to try would be to open the spFunctions.php file of your Simple:Press theme for editing (you can use the theme editor from the forum admin for this) and at the very top set the tooltips constant to false and see if that helps.

Thanks so much for the speedy reply. Yes, I am using all the latest, from S:P itself to all the plugins and also the theme.
It was indeed the tooltips! They did show up oddly on the previous theme as well (pushed all the way to the left of the screen) but didn't cause in issues there hence didn't pay further attention. Apparently the new theme is more sensitive.
glad its resolved... thanks for the update...
