Hi Ike
Can't do it that way (Forum > Toolbox > Uninstall) as I can't get into the Forum or Install it in the first place ... because it wants WP 4.5 !
Each time, I've used the WP Plugin deactivate then delete function ... not deleting the files directly from the server control panel.
Where is it picking up the info about the versions? Must be something in the db.
Regards, David
you had old version installed first??? yes, cannot go backwards... if you want to uninstall, you could go into the db and remove all the wp_sfxxxxx tables (your prefix might be other than wp_)... warning: this will remove all you forum data...

Good morning.
On this domain (web-right.com/emgsdev) I've never been able to install Simple:Press - I've always got the message about requiring WP4.5
I've checked the db (wp_634), and there are no entries or tables for sf. I deleted the plugin again, checking the folder and all files were gone.
However, I did previously have Simple:Press installed in a WordPress instance in the root of web-right.com. This was in a different db (wp_812). I've been back to it, uninstalled it, deleted the plugin (all according to instructions), and checked that all the sf tables have gone - they have.
Back to web-right.com/emgsdev ... re-installed 5.5.9, activated, clicked install ... same WP version message.
I've looked through all the folders on the server, and all the databases ... I can't find anything else which relates to Simple:Press. And I've checked the _options table too.
I don't understand PHP, so looking at the files doesn't mean much to me ... but which files are called when the 'Install' option is chosen, and where is it looking for and making the version comparison?
I'm sure we can get this fixed and get on with the testing.
Thanks, David
The only thing I could add would be that if it was the case you had remnants of a previous more recent version left over I would expect to see downgrade warnings rather than WP comparability warnings.
As Steve kindly brought the previous version list up to date, it might be worth deleting anything you have and trying a more recent version, 5.5.10 or 5.5.11 maybe.
Past that, we would have to wait for Andy or Steve's opinion.
yeah, I would grab the 5.6.4 version just to have latest... then go into your code, and edit the simple-press/sp-startup/sp-load-install.php file and try commenting out this line around 141
$bad = sp_version_checks();
comment it out and let it install... see what happens..
