can you ask them to add a white list for the forum and/or its ajax request?
or try disabling from your .htaccess file with
<IfModule mod_security.c>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off

I made the change to the htaccess and it seems to have worked!
The host said to do the htaccess change as they couldn't add a white list for the forum and/or its ajax request

host cannot add a white list???? weird... or lazy..
but just flat out disabling that piece of trash is better all the way around!
