I upgraded from 4.4.5 to 5.3.1.  I can see the post groups and they show there are a number of posts, but when I click on the group I receive "We're very sorry, but that page doesn't exist or has moved." What have I done wrong in the upgrade?

That sounds like your 404 page coming in to play.

Try the forum admin > integration > Page and permalink and clicking on the update forum permalink button - see if that shifts it.

At the top of that panel has it found the correct Wp page to use for the forum display? and/or has anything else changed like the site permalink for example?

It appears that it si showing the correct WP page.  When I go to the main forum page I see this link (I replaced our actual site URL with 'oursite').

http://www.oursite.com/index.p.....ter/forum/

This initial page looks fine and is displaying the correct groups and post information.

When I click the link to a group it displays the following in the Address line:

http://www.oursite.com/index.p.....iguration/

This appears to be correct, but I am getting the "We're very sorry, but that page doesn't exist or has moved."

The main change was the original forum folder on the server was simple-forum.  When I installed the upgrade I installed it in simple-press.  Not sure if this is related.

are you doing any kind of caching?  do you have a real link to your site?

We are not doing any caching.  You can replace the 'oursite' with 'miracleservice' to get to the actual site; however, the forum is in a protected area.  I could provide you with credentials through email or other method that is not publically posted.

Please PM credentials to both myself and to 'Mr Papa'. Please include in the PM a link to your site, a link to this thread and brief reminder of the problem. And one of us will take a look for you.
It would be helpful - if possible - if the account you set up could have SP admin capability so that we can look at the various settings of the forum.

Thank you greatly for your assistance.  We have resolved the issue.  Apparently our Wordpress site was missing a critical block in the .htaccess file that WP creates when it is set-up.  This was causing the problem with the index.php links.  We have replaced that block and it is now working correctly.

We are still at a bit of a loss on what the index.php was there for and why it just became an issue with the upgrade, but it is fixed now.

Thank you again for your assistance as you pointed us in the right direction.

Regards,
