Simple:Press will work perfectly well with any membership type plugin that properly implements the WordPress API. This is important as Simple:Press needs ti know user/membership details. WordPress uses a type of 'messaging' to inform other plugins about events such as a new user - so membership plugins need to implement the same system for things to work.
As far as we are aware mostly this appears to be the case with membership plugins we have encountered,
This codex article discusses how to set Simple:Press successfully with a membership plugin. It uses the popular WishList Member as a guide but the principle is the same for all. Hope that helps:

Absolutely yes. Some membership plugins allow/deny access to a WP page depending on membership status and Simple:Press only uses one single WP page for all of its display. So that is one possibility.
Bit also - it is possible to control access by using the built in user-group/permissions structures which can fine-tune access levels and what can be seen and done by users. I would suggest you take a look at the 'Getting Started' section of our codex which explains this in a little more detail.
