Hey guys, after hours of help from everyone here I was finally able to get SP working with my rockettheme gantry framework. Now I'm trying to get my forum password protected. From what I understand, you normally can just password protect the page the forum is on to lock people out. When I do that the page doesn't show the area to place the password in. it's just blank. Any suggestions?

why do you want to password protect it??? just use SP permissions to control who can see the forum and who cannot...
what version of SP?

I'm on the 5.0.4 and I want it password protected so no one sees the forums unless they have the password. I've tried finding a place on SP where it allows me to 'approve' someone that registers but I don't see it. Currently guest can just register then see the forum. Sure, I could make it so even the members can't see until I manually update their permissions, but i'm looking for something that prompts me to approve their registration. Since I can't do that, i'd like to password protect it.

by default, WordPress does not require approval of user registrations... and since SP sits on top of the wp users and database, the behaviour is the same...
but there are tons of registration plugins out there for wp that doe what you want... or many membership type plugis that do that too...

as to the password protect, what happens? you just get a blank page? no plugins to help with this?
5.0.4 included a fix for that password protection and we had heard its working, so odd..

Thanks Mr. Pappa. It doesn't surprise me that it's broken. Gantry framework has been a nightmare with SP. If it wasn't for you, the other mod, and other members on this board I would of had to scrap either gantry or SP. It took me forever and editing of code just to get simple press to appear. I'll check out those plugin as I do not feel like fighting with Gantry any longer.
