I'm very confused.
From the moderation menu:
"Can bypass first post moderation" -- I do NOT want members to bypass the first post moderation. To prevent spam, I want the first post moderated. So I did NOT check this option.
However, I have to approve SUBSEQUENT posts after I approve the first post.
Hovering over the "i" for information, I see:
Users in a user group joined with this permission set and assigned to a forum ... Can make posts in any topic in a forum after having their first post approved by a user capable of moderating posts.
So why does it say they BYPASS first post moderation?
I hope that checking this option will finally bypass SUBSEQUENT moderation and NOT bypass FIRST post moderation.
Hey Christine,
The two post moderation permissions work with each other, so if you enable 'bypass all post moderation' and disable 'bypass first post moderation', the result will be that only the first post will need moderating and not subsequent posts.. My guess is you have 'bypass all post moderation' unchecked.
For more info, see the FAQ page on post moderation - Accessible from the 'Codex Pages' menu in the sidebar.
Hope that helps!
Thanks, Ike, that helped. The "i" information with the permissions could use some clarification. I don't think you need the "Users in a user group joined with this permission set and assigned to a forum" as that's obvious and applies to all settings. Instead just state how it works as you just did in your post.
Anyway, thanks, it should work now.
thanks for the update.. you are welcome..
