When you display the members from within SP there is over a page of guests. Which we don't allow.

Also when I go into the Add Member for User Groups the 1st 52 slots are empty.

_sfmembers is showing we have 267 and I can see the blanks in there.

_users is showing 215

Should I just delete them from within phpMyAdmin?

Thanks!

ps: do you know why this might have happened? Maybe the update?

did you EVER allow guest posting?  in testing or anyting?

have you deleted any users?  if they had posts, they will revert to being from guests...

but even if any of the above, not sure how wp users and sfmembers would get off...  unless you had some really old users from a few versions of sp (4.3?) where it was possible for users to register and not get added to sfmembers until their first visit...  that bug was fixed long ago, but perhaps some of those users remained?  well, no... the count would be the other way in that case...

have you ever removed wp users other than with the wp api? ie, the wp delete users panel...  most odd...  have not run across this before...

but yes, you should be able to just delete the 'empty' sfmembers entries...  please make a db backup first, just as a safety measure...

We've never allowed guest members, however we are typically removing members from within WishList. Maybe it has something to do with that? I'll clean it out and then keep an eye on it and see if that is where the issue is coming from.

Thanks!

please do...  would be interesting to know if wishlist does not use the wp api properly and fire the appropriate/standard wp hooks for user deletion...

personally, if I wanted to delete a user, I would go to the wp users admin panel and not wishlist.... fyi, we use wishlist here...

Nope it isn't WL.Deleted a test member and it removed them from SP too.

They are all from around the same time, and I'm remembering that we had something really odd happening for a while related to WL where a single purchase was firing multiple emails for membership. Maybe it was related to that it was last year, and most of these are from like April to July of last year. I'll keep an eye on it and if I figure it out I'll share 🙂

Thanks again, deleted them all and now our member list looks normal again.
