After upgrading to the latest SP, I get the following error whenever viewing any discussion:
Warning: preg_replace_callback() [function.preg-replace-callback]: Empty regular expression in /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/dottech/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-filters.php on line 1044

n the WordPress Admin page Settings > Writing try turning on the Convert emoticons to graphics. There has been a couple of issues when it is turned off.

As posted here multiple times, due to a bug you need to either enable wp smileys on wp reading settings or comment out that line of code the error occurs on.
Sorry for issue - will be fixed in next version.

Thanks that fixed it. I'll appreciate when that update hits, I don't like the smiles.

not sure how we lost the option check, but will be in next version...
so for now, I would just comment out that line of code then... wont be any issue for next upgrade...
