I'm trying to import my phpbb3 database to Simple-Press
I am able to import members, forum structure etc, but I have a problem with the charset.
The text in my topics and headlines after the characters æøå aint imported, so I'm stuck with "half" centenses and headlines.
The mysql 4.1.22 databace which contains phpbb is set to latin1-swedish-ci charset, and not utf-8
The mysql 5.5.11 database which contains simple press is allso set to latin1-swedish-ci charset
The databases is located at my webhost, and I cannot create a new db, so I dont know if I can convert my database from latin1 to utf8

did you try it with the utf-8 option both checked and not checked?

Would you be willing to let me have a backup copy of the database? The best and easiest way to diagnose these issues is with something tangible to test with and is probably the only way I can resolve the issue.
if you are willing I assure you it will be uses strictly for testing purposes and will be deleted when finished with.
