Okay, I've been using the SVN to checkout files to my system. I'm using a piece of software called versions as it's the only straight forward SVN software I can find for a mac. It appears now that once I checkout the files to my plugins folder I'm not longer able to access my wp-admin once I press active on the plug-in. It could be that I've not done something right, but as of right now I'm a little stuck. It worked the first time, but since it's just started to give me problems.

Sorry about all the issues I've run into by the way. I don't normally have this sort of bad luck with getting things setup.

I am trying to remember which one Andy uses on his mac... I know he is happy with it... but drawing a blank and search didnt turn it up...

he will be by in the morning and can tell us what he uses on the mac...

if you have a good IDE, it probably has an svn client built into it too...

I use SynchroSVN although this is commercial so cost me!

The NetBeans IDE has svn built into it. So does the bbCode editor but I have never really got that working. The Path Finder (finder replacement) also has svn but probably only works for existing projects.

I've never run a Mac, I do svn via command line with linux and am quite certain Mac commands are much the same. Might be worth checking in to if you aren't shy with the command line. I did find this Mac thread with suggestions for GUI SVN apps. http://stackoverflow.com/quest.....for-mac-os

You're absolutely right Lee - and that is all apps like Path Finder and bbEdit are doing under the wraps.

That was surprisingly easy to upgrade!

SVN fan-boy myself, so pleased with that.

However, it threw a large wobbly at me when the main plugin folder was named "simple-forum" as opposed to "simple-press". Renamed it and upgraded on a development WordPress-network site with no problems at all so far. Will leave more feedback if/when I find problems etc.

Not entirely sure whether to be creating brand new topics for some things or not, found two things which are relatively minor that probably don't need their own topic:

  1. Image simple-press/admin/resources/images/na.png seems to be missing from SVN
  2. All the images/JS etc. are not loading using https:// (they're using http://) on the dashboard when a domain is configured to use SSL for the admin panels. Causes browsers to get a little fidgety as they're loading insecure content on a secure page.

on the ssl, have you defined FORCE_SSL_ADMIN to be true in your wp config file?  all those urls are built off the WP_CONTENT_URL constant which WP handles the https for...  have you redefined that constant?

missing image is fixed...
