Support Forum
Sorry for just budging in, but I'm experiencing the same problem. I can't post new topics on my simple-press forum. I used to be able to do that before but now I can't. So i reinstalled it again, disabled all the plugins and checked its compatibility with simple press. Even if I disable all my plugins, I am still not able to add a new topic. It does nothing every time i click on it. If i hover on the "Add Topic" button, it would just say on the lower left portion of my screen "javascript:void(null).

I will try to look at your site again in bit, but in the meantime, try a
quick temp switch to the wp default theme and see if it works. Will
help narrow down the conflict.

I would not say its not compatible with simple press. I would say it has
issues with wp. Its use the $ namespace in the jquery. WP prefers a
nonconflicting namespace... you could just replace $ with jQuery and see
if it works...
or play with the js in footer option and see if that would help...
You can find these errors with the firebug add on for firefox, or the
dev tool of choice for other browsers.

edit the js file and literally replace $ with jQuery... not sure how
much js there really is so not sure how big a task.
