After completing the latest Simplepress update and associated plugins, my Plupload plugin first states, " There is an update for the File Uploader with Plupload plugin. Version 4.0.2 is available. For details and to download please visit Simple:Press or go to theWordPress updates page.
Then when I attempt to update it, it stops and states,
"An error occurred while updating File Uploader with Plupload": "The plugin is at the latest version.
However, when I return to the Plugin page it continues to indicate "There is an update for the File Uploader with Plupload plugin. Version 4.0.2 is available..."
Can you help me figure this out?
Thanks so much!

so what is the version of the one you? by that, I mean physically check the file...
wp-content/forum-resources/plupload/sp-plupload-plugin.php
see what version it reports at top of that file..
make sure you dont have multiple plupload plugins uploaded... where one might have plupload-1 or something else with numeric...
check your wp uploads dir, ie wp-content/uploads/2014/12 and see if any plupload files or dirs in there... perhaps wp is having a hard time removing the archive or uploading a new one over old...
the upgrade actually happens by wp, not sp... we just tell it where the file is located...
so if all that and still issue, check your server error log and see if anymore info in there...
would like to figure out, but worst case, download a version and upload to your sp plugins dir via http://ftp... had similar report a couple weeks ago, but user didnt come back with enough info to debug what is likely a local issue... have had many hundreds of updates of that plugin...

Thanks for that information. I decided to just delete that file and re-upload the 4.0.2 plupload file.
However, I can't, for the life of me, figure out where my plugin uploader is. Every time I click on the Plugin Uploader link on the left side of the page, I simply get re-positioned to the top left side of the page. It doesn't really go anywhere specific; it just repositions me to the top of the page again.
I have no idea why this is stumping me. Mr. Papa, I would appreciate you refreshing my memory on how to upload a plugin file to my Simple Press. If you would like to access my website directly, let me know. Thanks for your patience!

by plugin uploader, do you mean forum - plugins - plugin uploader?
if you want to pm us some credentials, we can take a look... it needs to be wp admin and sp admin capable... be sure to pm to yellow swordfish, ike and mr papa... and link to this topic so we know what its about...

By the way, I really like the look of the Admin panel, and also, I must say, the entire back end is a lot easier to navigate. I can see how much time and effort is going into this Plugin and I appreciate all your hard work very much.
Thank you. That is really appreciated. In all of these years I am not sure I recall anyone ever making a comment about the admin side of things - although I may just have a faulty memory of course!

you have a fair number of js errors on your site...
some facebook like plugin is throwing errors, even in the admin...
but, it could be because of the Autooptimize plugin... its trying to concatenate all the js together... but because of that, js if failing... or it could be because of the w3tc total cache and its minification... either way, the minified js is failiing... I tried deactivating autoptimize, and js still failing, so probably w3tc...
these minification scripts often fail when other plugins already provide minified scripts... double min usually fails...
additionally, with caching, you must disable it on the wp page that shows the forum... the forum content is all dynamic... assuming its static and caching it (as the plugin does) will break it for sure... hence a lot of the problems you are having...
so for all types of caching you are doing, please disable caching on the wp page the forum is on...

Oh that's right! I forgot about turning off the caching in the Forum. I knew it had to be something I was missing.
Thanks for the information about js and minification. I have been trying to optimize the speed of my website, and I have found that this is the most difficult part in speeding up my website.
Thanks again for the feedback. As usual, your assistance and your patience is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for looking into my issue further. As I stated, I had discovered the problem was that my entire sp admin panel was inop rather than an issue with the plugin/plugin uploader.
I appreciate you trouble shooting the problem. When you said it was the IK Facebook plugin, I realized I had overlooked that in your previous response. This plugin, did in fact, have issues after the update, and these remain unresolved.
I have deactivated it, and sure enough my Simple:Press is back to normal.
Thanks again.
