The PM function is working way better all of a sudden.

Thank you. It was one of the biggest revamps we undertook in the last round (5.7.2). Glad you find it improved. Some of the db queries were actually simplified and optimised.
And I did point out to you once before but not sure you read - did you notice you now have the paging you requested? You can set the values on the PM options panel in admin if you want to change the defaults.
