Pop up window obscured by menu & banner

Since the 5.3 update (and plugins), the unread posts window (and the profile pop up window when I have it switched to that rather than buddypress) are obscured by the site banner and the main menu.

Scroll down, and nothing gets obscured. Screenshots included.

Any recommendations on how to solve this? CSS or theme error?»-Forums-2013-08-03-18-07-20.pngImage Enlarger»-Forums-2013-08-03-18-08-02.pngImage Enlarger

It just got more obscure. When on the main forum index it's obscured, but when you're in an actual forum, it's not obscured.

Sorry but I don't really understand what you are referring to, All I see in the images is a big black, empty rectangle and I have no idea what that is? And what has this to do with the site banner and main menu?

The second image is the 'Most Recent Topics With Unread Posts' window. The window that pops up in Simplepress when you click on the button besides how many posts are unread? Top right corner?

When it pops up, it shows all the posts with new replies since you last read them.

Usually when this pops up, it's above everything, at the fore front so to speak, but as you can see in the image, it's being hidden behind the banner and the menu (but still in front of the forum index.)

If this is a custom SP theme and all the popups are like this then you might need to make some minor CSS changes. If I recall correctly these are in part due to WP/jQuery Ui changes that are having a knock-on effect.

There are details of the changes here:

Nope. Nothing custom. Just using default theme 1.2.3 with the black-gold overlay.

The WP theme is Custom Community Pro by Themekraft, though I doubt it'd be that.

I'll be honest, beyond changing colours and such, I'm no good at CSS (though it's on my to-learn-properly list).

do you have a link to the site?

did the theme get an update for wp 3.6?  with the jquery ui changes Andy alluded to, it may need one...

Wordpress is at 3.6, Custom Community Pro is upto date specifically for that. In fact, fairly certain everything is up to date.

the question was, 'did it have an update to pair with 3.6?'.  not is it up to date but was there an update to match 3.6...  because the jquery stuff in new wp had deprecated functions removed...

will look at site...
