But we don't know where you might want to put them... Some people might want to show something in the header on every page. or maybe half-way down a sidebar. Sometimes on some pages and not others.
These represent one of the true values of using a product like WordPress which is built upon template tags. And using themes and templates to display your site - where you can add items wherever you want to show them to fit your own design and requirements.
And we are always willing to advise if you have a problem with a tag in the area you choose to locate it.

i will happily do that if you tell me what IS the most common place to put it. I really have no idea where that might be. It is an entirely optional tag made available because some users may like to make use of it. You tell me why you want it and where you want it and I can advise...

Send them? What SP theme are you using? Are you not getting an inbox button to the right of the avatar at the top? And a 'send PM' button in each users post - both of which you can see on this page?
And by the way - I do accept the point about the codex in this respect. Those details are very vague and need attention.
So - if the buttons/links you have provided by default in the theme are not enough you still need to tell me where it is you want whatever it is you want (link? button? targeted at specific user? just load the PM page? etc.,) and we can advise on the best one to use and where to use it.

Yes send them as in private messages... The current theme im using is Default 1.2.2 by Andy Staines, Steve Klasen and Brandon C. The buttons or links your talk about are non existent. Thats what I been trying to figure out LOL. Sorry for not being clear in my first message. Lets start again. How do I send somebody a private message and read my private messages once the plugin is enabled? Hows that? What PM page are you talking about?
So the plugin is activated but you see no buttons...
Being able to use PM is a permission so you will need to enable it for the users you wish to be able to make use of it. So the first stop is manage Permissions and turn it on for those permission sets that are appropriate.
Individual users who DO have permission to use PMs also have the ability to opt out of it within their SP profile options.
You as a forum admin should see the buttons all of the time although - and I would need to check the code - it might be that if nobody other than admins has permission to use it then the buttons wont display - which would make sense...

Thank you. Sorry for the miscommunication. Once I enabled it I saw the inbox and now im able to to do that. The only reason why i thought that I had to add it to the template was because the last time I asked you about my subcribe to forum button you said I had to add it to the templates.
Case closed
Good point. On the whole the main - more likely - plugin tags were implemented in the themes. In fact - we have now updated the theme templates to include them all - just in case. So PM's were fully put in place as were the main Subscription tags. The subscribe to forum was a later addition and more optional - the sort of option you need to think carefully about before turning on...
