have you configured a usergroup for new members??? what role are the new users getting? have you mapped that usergroup to a sp usergroup on forum - usergroups - map users to usergroups?
and is this straight wp user signup? or is another plugin involved?

As for me, I did all of the above but then when I came to that question, I realize...I am actually using the Members plugin by Justin Tadlock and everything was working before now, I noticed it wasn't working well about two week ago when my users kept calling and mailing that they could gain no access to the forum. Could it be the Members plugin? Perhaps there is something in the sp-forum update that is not compatible with Members...
How do we resolve this from this point on? Thanks so much Mr. Papa
Adewale: So what happened between when it was working and when it stopped working? There has not been a Simple:Press update for a while now as we are waiting for the long overdue WordPress 3.6 to land...
Mostly membership plugins work just fine but we have come across one or two instances where the membership plugin does not follow the WordPress API and rules or fire the correct events and actions - necessary to allow other plugins to know that something has happened - like in this case, a new user has registered. But the question above needs an answer first really...

How do i configure a usergroup for new members?? and they only can view the forums and cant post in them. The signup is buddypress and i have a plugin to sign up people with social networks called OneAll Social Login.
Let's do one thing at a time. Look at my post above (#4). You imply this 'OneAll Social Login' plugin is to 'sign up people' so does that mean new users? I ask because the plugin name just says 'Login'.
If it does perform the registration then does it also use the correct WordPress API and actions to inform other plugins about new users? Try adding a new user through the WP Add user panel and see of that user can successfully use the forum.

Ok so i did what you told me to add the new user and i did with WP and it worked that user can post. But when i sign up using buddypress registration I have a plugin that automatically creates member with no email authorization 'BP Auto Activate Autologin Redirect To Profile On Signup'. Just like when you login with 'OneAll Social Login' I was looking at the users and they are not WP Members they are turned into WP Subscribers when they register I think this is the problem!
well if you have a plugin that creates users outside of the wp api and standards, not much we can do... When a user is properly created by wp or a plugin, a hook is fired that tells any other interested theme or plugin that a new user was created so they can react appropriately... if this other membership plugin is not doing that, not much we can do... standard bp works fine, but not familiar with the one you reference..
