sorry, not sure what you are saying... are you talking wp roles, sp usergroups or membership levels? they all have to be coordinated... and the wp hook for new users has to be fired...

so do you have wp roles mapped to sp usergroups? and how are roles changing? via wp or the membership? when wp changes a role, it fires a hook so plugins know... if the membershp plugin, is it using the wp api for changing the role so the proper hook is fired?

I think i don't have the wp roles mapped to the user group how will i do this? Will this work for new users? I tried earlier with both wp roles member and subscriber, I registered a new user using the buddypress register forum and both roles member and subscriber could not post a topic or reply. But when I created the new user from the wordpress admin both roles worked they can post a topic and reply.
your choice on who it works for... if you just change the settings, it applies for new users... but there is also a button you can click on to apply it to all existing users...
this is on forum - usergroups - map users to usergroups...

How do i make it apply for new users because it seems to not be working people cant post or reply. its weird because I tried earlier with both wp roles member and subscriber, I registered a new user using the buddypress register forum and both roles member and subscriber could not post a topic or reply. But when I created the new user from the wordpress admin both roles worked they can post a topic and reply.
you will have to find out how your membership plugin works... sounds like it does not use the wp api so the appropriate hooks are fired... if it has an api where it fires its own hook, we can help give on using that hook to get around it...
