Hello !

I'm using Simple Press with Buddypress on my website http://www.nailissima.com

On the right column, I display the Buddypress Members plugin, that displays the last activities from members.

For example :

 - Member X / last activity 5 minuts ago

 - Member Y / last activity 3 hours ago...

On all pages, this widget works correctly, except on the forum page.

On the forum page, there is a difference of 2 hours less. The result is the display of wrong hours. For example if the last activity is 3 hours ago, it shows only 1 hour ago. And if the last activity is less that 2 hours ago, it shows "unknown" (probably because the result should be a negative number).

Here is a screenshot of my timezone settings :

Can you see something wrong ? Could you explain how Simple Press could change the time settings in a Buddypress widget ?

Thank you in advance for your help !

Myriam

are you running version 1.0.2?

the forum pages are timezone centric to the user...  buddypress knows nothing about the timezone of the user - only the site... might be something there...  on the forum pages, we run in the user timezone...

what is the wp timezone setting?

Thank you for this quick answer...

I was using buddypress plugin version 1.0.1, just updated to 1.0.2 while reading your answer, but nothing chaged.

If you need that information, I'm also using the versions below :

Wordpress : 3.6

BuddyPress : 1.8.1

Simple Press : 5.3

And here are the wp timezone settings :

think we understand what is going on there...  since SP supports user time zones and BP does not, the time zone is probably leaking over to their stuff...  we will have to see if we can prevent that so BP stuff stays wrong (ie in server timezone and not user)...

OK, please let me know if you find something...

On my side I checked all the timezone settings, all is set as Europe / Paris.

I know Steve (Mr Papa) spent some time digging into code on this last night so it is being investigated.
