Support Forum
I use Yoast Wordpress SEO, and I have that plugin's XML Sitemaps function enabled. I'm wondering now how to get the forum into a sitemap. (I see I can only use your SP sitemap plugin if I am using Brachhold's Google XML Sitemap plugin).
On the /forum page where I have SP installed, the Yoast plugin gives me the option to include or not include that page into their sitemap. Should I include it or not?
I could instead install Brachhold's Google XML Sitemap plugin and then your sitemap plugin if not doing it this way is not an adequate solution. I had decided to the use the Yoast sitemap function since I already was using their SEO plugin, to save on the number of plugins I'm using.
Thanks for your thoughts on this.
currently, we only directly support Arne Brachold's plugin... mainly because in the day, it was the only way that offered a series of hooks that we could tell it to add pages to...
telling a sitemap plugin to add the forum page will have very limited functionality... because the forum is really dynamic content on the page... so it would just get the main forum page and then have to self discover the rest which can take a long time... but if we had our urls (dynamic pages and content) to the xml list, it has them directly...
I will open a ticket for research on the yoast seo plugin and see if it supports other plugins adding stuff... if so, perhaps we can support it too...
