Then I will thank kvr28 for adding his comment and perhaps you could be a little more polite to people who try and help out with comments and advice.

As to your last assertion then as Simple:Press is clearly not xenforo I see no relevance to how it does something that we may do differently. In my own opinion I don't see it as a bug but I will leave that decision to @mr-papa who wrote the plugin and may feel differently.

excuse me, i wasn't being rude. i was just stating a fact.

if you don't want to use xenforo, then take the case of facebook - you don't get notified when you comment on our own posts.

just the phase itself is wrong - 'Wendell Fadul mentioned YOU' - that obviously pertains to two persons, not one.

also, my message was clearly directed at @ike, so its only fair the he be the one to answer my question.

anyway, im not here to start an argument okay, im here for support. i paid a substantial amount and just want answers to my questions. thanks.

Unfortunately I would have given you the same answer. I'm not a plugin developer so I also would have passed the question on to Mr Papa who wrote the plugin.

As to not being rude, Andy didn't say you were. kvr28 doesn't work for Simple:Press and doesn't have to help out, but we greatly appreciate it when our users offer help to others even when it's not necessarily the answer you wanted. The site admins here are never far away and we read every post so if further help is needed one of us will answer. In this case Mr Papa being in the states and at work should be around shortly.

have your questions been answered?  think so, but correct me if wrong and we can address...

I can say we have discussed in past whether quoting should trigger a mention and have concluded yes each time... of course, its an opinion and open to differing opinions...  If I was mentioned in the post, whether via quoting or via a new direct mention, its still me being mentioned... what I can do is look into whether that can be overridden via a hook or other method...

you also mentioned like vs thanks... yes, assuming we are talking about the thanks post plugin here...  the text strings are controlled via the thanks post admin panel in components and in the template tags used in your sp theme for displaying the buttons and stuff...

@mr-papa

hello. what's just weird is the phrase - 'Wendell mentioned you'. that shouldn't be the case, you only use that when 2 people are involved.

the system should ignore that action, just a suggestion. smile

understand... and we will have another discussion on it here as we always do with suggestions... doesnt mean we always implement said suggestions... 😉

I do get the point on the wording of the quoted one...

believe it or not, its not a simple thing to remove that mention either...  but that is not why its in there laugh

sorry, can you elaborate??

do you mean here or your site?

if here, its not an older structure, but we 'order' the forums differently... if not logged in, you see the publicly accessible forums first and the private forums (with sneak preview so you can see forum and topics, but not posts) next but greyed out...  once logged in, we show the support forums first since you now have access to them...
