A user on our forum asks "I would prefer the newest post to be on top of each topic so I dont have to go through all the old posts every time I am looking for the most current one. Is there an option that allows for this?"

"There should be a way to go directly to the last post read. Other Forums have a small box next to the topic, you click it and it takes you to the last post you read."

Does such a feature exist in Simple Press?

Thanks,
Dan

Users cannot currently sort a forum or topic differently than the admin has set up... Admins can choose to reverse sort specific forums or posts, but not users...

Each forum/topic has a indication of which ones are unread...

Thanks. As you might imagine my users would like to control the sort feature themselves. If you don't ask to go to the moon you will never make the trip. wink

Apparently only those with full website Admin can change the sort order and not those who have been given basic forum admin duty?

My forum admins can view and use the Forum Tools within the forum but the sort order does not appear. See photo.

Is there an capability I need to select in the Simple-Press admin manger section?sort.jpgImage Enlarger

Curious. The ONLY check the code makes is to determine if the current user is a designated forum 'admin'. That's NOT a moderator of course but an actual 'admin'.

What version of SP is this you are using please?

And was that screenshot made when you were logged in as a proper SP Admin?
