Hi, we deleted a topic rather than a post by mistake. How can we recover the topic?

Unless you can get from a db backup, afraid there is no way to recover... We currently do not have a trash feature that holds deleted items until you empty the trash... it is on our wishlist, but no ETA...

I thought you might say that. If I just want to restore that one thread from a backup, what content do I need to pull from which tables?

Well, its rather messy... it will touch many different tables in the db... the topic data itself will be in sftopics... the posts would be in the sfposts table... but each member who made a post in that topic, would have their sfmembers row touched (post count)... also it may touch sfgroups and sfforums if the latest topic in the forum or group...
Personally, I would manually recreate each post... and then use the forum tools, to reassign the post to the right user...
so create the topic with the data from the db... reassign that post using forum tools to proper author... then add each post reply with the data from the db and again reassign the user...
the topic will be recreated though its position within the forum will be the newest instead of its old slot/order... minor detail...
