Greetings Guys..
I have been fiddling with FeedWordPress adding various syndicated feed posts to my blog. On one site i operate, I wanted to generate a sp post when the syndicated blog post is auto published. Defining a category and enabling the post by default option in sp blog linking does not work. Only if i go in and click edit post and update, does it create a sp forum post.
What is the difference between these two post types that causes an sp post not to be auto created?
Any Suggestions?
Thanks!

Well firstly I must say I know nothing abut the mechanics of FeedWordPress...
You mention 'post types'. If this FeedWordPress creates posts in a particular post type then first thing is to ensure that that 'post type' is selected in the blog linking options.
If you did not actually mean WP 'post types' as such then it may come down to how FeedWordPress creates blog posts. Blog Linking is dependent upon the code actions that are fired when a post is published. If you do not know what these are then think of them as messages that are created that let other components know what is happening. If FeedWordPress does not send these messages then Blog Linking will not know a post has been published.
Another and perhaps more likely possibility, is that FeedWordPress does not take into account any components that add processing to the normal post edit panel which would mean that it is not even aware of the blog linking options that are set up.
